Preakness Stakes
Baltimore’s signature celebrations are those that surround Preakness Stakes, horse racing’s Triple Crown race, which takes place each May. The Preakness events include a hot air balloon festival, massive parties (several of them at Baltimore’s Power Plant Live), the Westside Preakness Parade, the Preakness 5k Run, the Preakness Sunset Cruise, even a mini-Preakness Stakes for kids.
